Folding Electric Bike Reviews UK: 7 Models Ranked and Scored

Advertising disclosure: this page contains affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. It never changes a score. How we make money.

Seven folding e-bikes sold on Amazon UK, one score each. Pick the bike that matches your stairs, your boot and your commute, then read its full review.

Every bike is scored out of 10 on the same six things: value, comfort, real-world range, build and reliability, portability, and UK road legality. Scores come from each Amazon UK listing and verified buyer reviews, not from a hands-on test. Where a listing contradicts itself, it loses points rather than getting the benefit of the doubt.

PortabilityWeight and folded size
UK legality250W, 15.5 mph, no throttle

In Great Britain an e-bike can be ridden like a normal bicycle only if the motor is 250W or less, assistance stops at 15.5 mph (25 km/h) and the motor only helps while you pedal (walk assist up to 6 km/h is allowed). Anything else counts as a moped: it must be registered, taxed and insured, needs a licence and a motorcycle helmet, and can’t use cycle lanes. A legal e-bike can use cycle paths, but never the pavement. That is why legality carries so much weight in our scores. The official rules are on GOV.UK.

Before you buy any of these bikes: get it in writing

Our scores come from Amazon listings and buyer reports, not hands-on tests, and listings change. Before you pay, ask the seller to confirm in writing:

  • The exact weight with the battery, and the folded size in cm
  • That the motor is 250W continuous and assistance stops at 15.5 mph
  • That there is no throttle that moves the bike above walking pace without pedalling
  • What comes in the box (charger with a UK plug, mudguards, rack, tools) and the warranty terms

Use Amazon’s own messaging (the “Ask a question” button on the seller’s page) so the answer is saved in your account. If the bike doesn’t match what was confirmed, you have proof for a return. See our recommendation notice.

How we review: eFoldBike doesn’t test bikes in person. We analyse each Amazon UK listing, its specification tables and verified-purchase reviews, check the claims against UK e-bike law and score six areas out of 10. Specs checked October 2026. Listings change, so confirm the details on Amazon before you buy. Spotted an error? Brands, sellers and readers can contact us, and we correct verified mistakes quickly.
